Sleep Apnea Breathing Machine

. From what I can tell… No you cannot. Sleep studies are required to determine settings. Playing around with an old machine can lead to more harm than good – especially if your presumed apneac events have a cause that should not be treated with CPAP. See a doctor, get a plan that is specific to your situation.

It's not a good idea. You need to talk to your doctor and schedule a sleep study to match a machine to your needs.

The setting on a c-pap is a prescription, it is actually illegal to set a cpap without a doctors order. The only way to find the correct setting is with a sleep study. Be forewarned: they cost several thousand dollars. Check your insurance and deductible before doing it.

On the other hand, apnea is easily treated but can be quite dangerous if untreated. So get the study done if you can!
