Sleep Apnea Cpap

I have been on a CPAP for 18 months now, and acquired United Healthcare Choice Plus insurance several months ago. Will they cover my masks, CPAP and future sleep treatments. After speaking to others on the web, I found the answer. If it is a group plan there will probably be coverage subject to a waiting period. If you had insurance immediately prior to getting this plan the waiting period will probably have been waived. If it is an individual plan there will be a waiting period of 6 to 12 months depending upon which state you live in.

Typically if they don’t exclude this condition in your contract and you were covered continuously prior to the new policy, you should be covered. That being said sleep apnea is usually excluded or ridered and is not covered. . in individual medical plans. I have never had a policy issued without this condition being excluded. Sorry for this but I hope it is helpful.
