Sleep Apnea Remedy

I have been recently diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and am now on a waiting list to visit a sleep clininc to determine what kind of treatment I need, which I have been told could take months, unfortunately due to my circumstances I am not entitled to a medicare card and I do not have the money to go private, therefore I am a sitting duck. In the mean time is there anyone out there who can suggest a remedy, or anything which will help me sleep at night until I get the proper treatment, preferbly something that will not leave me feeling drowsy or hung over the next morning. I constantly wake up, and when I do wake I cannot go back to sleep, most nights I wake about 2am and lie awake until I have to go to work. It is getting unberable. Does anyone have any suggestions Please. I was happy to learn… Actually, try sleeping on your stomach, it will not obstruct your airway as much.

There is a type of nasal strip that you put over your nose to open the nasal passage. I does help some people. Ask your pharmacist about it.

I have sleep apnea also, mine is usually not bad. I have used my asthma medication with a little bit of success when I'm having a particularly hard time.

My father also has it. He wears the “breath easy” type nose stripes for snoring and he says it helps the apnea as well.

When it wakes me up, I drink some water (keep it on my night table) roll over and go back to sleep. Yours sounds worse than mine.

Wish I could be of more help.

Sleep apnea is short periods of not breathing. You may have a sleep disorder but not sleep apnea. There is treatment for it.
